After over 25 years in the travel industry- promoting, selling, creating and operating group travel programs all over the world, Carol Owen had a brainchild! With the creation of RETREATS RESOURCES in 2003 Carol felt a mission to share all that she knew, believed and felt about distinctive hotels and resorts in some of the world’s most beautiful destinations with other travel industry professionals who were increasingly relying on the virtual world to teach them about the real one!

With a combination of “ testimonial” marketing, regional sales events, and the production of a bi-annual Showcase Roadshow around the Southeastern states, Carol has successfully raised awareness of, and increased business opportunity for, some of the most distinctive properties and destinations across North America and beyond.

Carol is a long-term member of MPI and SITE, and currently serves on the board of the Southeastern SITE chapter in the capacity of mentor and coach to the Programs and Education team. A two-time winner of SITE’s prestigious Crystal Award of excellence in the field of promoting and delivering incentive travel programs, Carol has been a frequent presenter and panelist on industry programs, and a case study of the employee recognition program she developed for Cox Communications is included in the industry’s only text book on incentive travel.

Carol and her husband Tom are currently enjoying life as residents of Fearrington Village, a Relais & Chateau luxury inn and village in Pittsboro , North Carolina.
